The Office, 7x17, "Todd Packer"

I want you all to know this is a safe place where we can talk about how great The Office is and how excited we are that next season, the ensemble is going to surprise everyone and continue to be just as funny and awesome as ever.

Which pair made you laugh more: Andy and Pam (I loved all the callbacks to Andy's anger-management problems and his tender heart, and of course the two people most easily pushed over would have a delightful momentary power struggle before joining forces..."Pretty sneaky, sis" = awwwwwwwwwwwwwww) or Dwight and Jim?
"Have a butterbeer on us"
I really can't decide. All-around great.

I always wondered about the best way to break my computer:
"Maybe because I hate your broke ass!"
Also, Mindy Kaling looked very, very pretty (not to sound all creepy a la The Faculty) in this ep:
I loved the way that Kelly just appeared over her cubicle wall during the Holly v staff confrontation.

I also loved the teeny moment of Oscar coming over, arms crossed, to stand behind Kevin during Todd Packer's "apology." He's always looking out for his very big little bro:
I think as they transition Michael Scott into being more and more Steve Carell-y (read: nice and very good at vulnerable, empathy-inducing love), I find myself okay with waving good-bye and welcoming a more ensembley mix-and-match show to my Thursday Stories.

  1. I'm ready for a Michael Scott-less Office. I read somebody complain that he went on the same journey in this episode as he did the week before, and while I wasn't as angry about it...I can't argue.

I enjoyed Jim's look to camera (that's right, Internet!) when Michael said, "He'll be here til the day he dies, just like the rest of us."

  2. I think I will be ready for Michael to leave now too. I'm no longer waiting with dread for him to screw up with Holly again; it's clear they're sticking together for good. And once he's genuinely happy, a lot of the insecure insanity that is Michael has to fade away. So let him happy and he and Holly can ride off into the dorky sunset, and bring in someone else to play off the group in a new way.

  3. Kelly peeking up like a meerkat in the annex is so wonderful. Agreed with Amanda and Kristen also.

  4. P.S. I like that you set up this post so it shows the whole post on the main page of your blog, instead of closing it up so you have to click it like the first couple of them. Leave them open in the future, pretty please!
